Ypsilanti High School Reviews

I am a parent of two students that are attending Ypsilanti High School. I have two more students to go through this school. I am highly confident that my other two will do great in this school. Since they got their new principal there has not been as many fights and distractions. My son flourished from an all C student to a b- and b student. All of his teachers said that they have seen a difference in his attitude. I am so happy that we have chosen Ypsilanti High School as our school of choice. I recommend this school to any one in the area. It is more disciplined to the point that I am not scared to send my child to school.

i am a former student of Ypsilanti High, i feel as though some teachers are doing there job but very very few. the rest of the teachers do not teach, they have horrible methods and are unfair in their grading methods. teachers grade people differently on the same work. If an A student and a D student get the same answers on homework the D student will get a D and the A student an A. teachers are closed minded about the material that the students are being force fed. I moved out of state and now attend another High School where I find my self un prepared in the area of math.

I am a former student who went to Ypsilanti High during the years of 2000 - 2004 and I would never send my future childern there ever. In my experience there, I saw no really leadership or discipline. I saw the principle at the time do nothing about thefts or any kind of misbehavior. In fact most of the time he was nowhere to be found. I also found that there was very little to no parent involvement. The teachers there also seemed to me not to care or had no idea how to manage there own classes.

Ypsilanti High School is what you make of it. I attended from 1991-95 and had a positive experience. However, I was involved in the band program, drama program and did other extra curricular activities as well. Its easy to get in trouble if you hang out with the wrong crowd, however, if you do the right thing and make the right friends, you should do just fine. I went on to get a bachelor's degree and am a happy and well-adjusted adult.
